Hawai’i’s Volcano Circus, Aerial Arts Hawai’i and The Palace Theater are proud to present: 2020 Vision, A Vaudeville Varieté Experience, starring a very special collection of local and internationally renowned performing artists. The fun happens on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at the Palace Theater in Hilo. Ticket info below.

The doors open at 6 p.m., and the family-friendly 2020 Vision Vaudeville Varieté Experience begins when you arrive. You will be greeted in the lobby by a parade of colorful characters, have an opportunity to bid on all sorts of goodies in the silent auction and have your photo taken as a trapeze artist. Sounds intriguing? Yes!

The pre-show starts onstage at 6.30 p.m., and features the newest HICCUP Children’s Circus students, their instructors and a few parents getting in on the act as well! HICCUP stands for Hawai’i Island Community Circus Unity Project and has been a vital part of East Hawai’i for over 30 years.

At 7 p.m. the show begins. With more than a dozen fabulous performers from near and far, it is a celebration of the performing arts with an emphasis on traditional and contemporary circus skills. “We have performers who started as HICCUP kids and performers who inspired them,” explains Aileen Wilkie, one of the event organizers. She continues: “You’ll see unexpected musical offerings, including a musical saw duet, and award-winning magic. Suspended from the ceiling will be Hawai’i Islands’ most accomplished aerialists, guaranteed to have you gasping at their dynamic moves. Did I mention the comedy? Whoever said ‘laughter is the best medicine’ had it right! Nothing brings us together more than a shared laugh and a gleeful teehee. Be prepared to laugh out loud.”

If you go… Have a good show!
