Big Island vocalist Alana Mirror and producer David Williamson of DWP Sounds have released “Dragonflies,” and it’s available now on all streaming platforms.
“Dragonflies” is an anthem for the tremendous transformations that we face today, calling each one of us to rise as Allstars of the change. As life brings so much uncertainty these days, this track summons the wisdom of nature’s cycles and the majestic power of grace, bringing unshakable confidence to our unstoppable change. With soaring vocals and brilliant harmonies, this song cheers for our evolution with conviction.
“The music is something I wrote in kind of a void,” says Williamson, “I didn’t really have any idea of what vocals might be like for this song or if any singers would really connect with it or want to work with it. I first met Alana while sitting on the beach listening to her sing and strum the ukulele and was like, hey, you sound really good, we should work together at some point! It was pretty amazing in that it took her a little over an hour to come up with the lyrics for “Dragonflies,” and I was blown away by her message and delivery.”
Mirror says, “When David gave me the instrumental track with the title ‘Dragonflies,’ I had just gotten back from a pilgrimage up the slopes of Mauna Kea. I was hungry to write a song about how the volcanic landscape reminds me that life and love always prevail, even as the old is released and the new can hardly be seen. The way that the melody and lyrics basically wrote themselves further instilled in me a deep trust in the changing–as with any metamorphosis, there’s something mysterious within each one of us that simply knows what to do. This song reminds us that together we’ll make it through.”
Alana Mirror is an emerging recording artist, marking “Dragonflies” as her first studio collaboration. As a creative, Alana considers herself an inner activist, harnessing the magic of rhyme, melody, and metaphor as powerful catalysts for changing the world from the inside out.
