The Kilt Lifters
The Kilt Lifters are the Big Island’s premier Celtic folk/rock band. The Kilt Lifters have been operating on the Big Island for over 3 years now, and primarily play events and festivals. The Kilt Lifters were proud to be the headlining act of the 2017 Tacoma Highland Games in Graham, Wa. The Kilt Lifters recently finished a marathon weekend of shows over St. Patrick’s day (the one day a year when a Celtic band is the hot chick!), and this will be their third year performing at the Oahu Scottish Festival & Highland Games the first weekend in April. The Kilt Lifters have just had a soft release of their second EP, Friends Old and New, just in time to make it for St. Patrick’s Day.
About: Like the ever-changing ocean that the band is inspired by, The Oceanographers are an ever-evolving musical endeavor that desires to create experiences that are one of a kind. Ever since 2010, lead-singer-songwriter Justin Miyamoto has been creating music that explores the realms of the subconscious emotions and collective story of humanity. On Earth Day 2014 the band released their self-titled debut album The Oceanographers LP. Justin hopes to bring change to the world by offering stories that help us unite to save our planet.

The Selassie Ites
About: The Selassie Ites band hails from the Puna District on the Big Island of Hawaii. The band was initially formed by husband and wife lead singers Tyson “Abba T” Black and Cathy “Sista C” Black, around 2009.
Though the band has undergone a few changes and rearranges in the beginning years, they have had a solid core of musicians that have helped to transform and cultivate a real roots-rock sound. Though the Selassie Ites have always endeavored to keep their music roots, the influences of dance hall, hip-hop, and rock are unmistakable and gives The Selassie Ites a very unique, versatile, and far-reaching sound.
