Honokaʻa-based artist, Hannah Kaplon, has released her new single, “You”, and it will soon be available on all streaming platforms. “You” was recorded at Kukuau Studio in Hilo and produced by Bub Pratt. Lyrics and music were written by Kaplon.
“You” is a love song, written about the peaceful feeling that a lover gives, taking place in the thin space between waking and dreams. It was written in a waiting room and felt divinely inspired because of how quickly the music and lyrics came. Most of the lyrics were written in about 10 minutes, and soon after the melody came through the music was added. “You” was inspired by Hannah’s husband, Mark, and was written about the beginning of their romance.
The music video for “You” was shot in the recording studio and around Hilo. It was filmed and produced by Mark Kaplon. The cover art for the single is an image from the studio recording session as well.
