Singer/songwriter Bub Pratt, originally from Seattle, now lives in Hilo as the curator of Kukuau Studio. If you’ve never been, the Hilo studio is set in a small theater. Pratt offers music lessons, jazz jams, and even slam poetry events. Its now a recoding studio, and has its own label called Kukuau Studio.
Pratt’s new release Oceans & Bridges was recored there, and is the name of his newest collection of songs. I had the pleasure sitting down with him and discussing the CD’s tracks and the backstory for four of the album’s songs.
