Hilo-based musician Christina Rico (aka DREAM) will release her third single, “Fall In Love” on April 3.
“I’m excited to release this song because I get to share a part of my heart with the world. “‘Fall In Love’ reminds me of the excitement of falling in love,” said Rico. “This song creates an atmosphere that exhibits the majestic environment that we live in, here in Hawaii. The spirit of Hawaii is serene, tranquil and makes falling in love effortless. I hope that this song can construct a hope for love or bring a lost love to life again.”
Rico earned a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts Degree in Spring 2020. She continues to attend the University of Hawaii at Hilo studying Philosophy and Education with hopes to be accepted into the Master of Arts in Teaching Program. Her goal is to integrate music, drama, and dance into the core curriculum to build long-lasting educational experiences for her future students.
Rico adds, “Music has become a huge part of my life. I’ve written many songs and enjoyed playing the ukulele and the guitar. Music production and recording have also gained my interest. I’ve recorded and produced all three of my singles,‘Love Pocean Dream,’ ‘Family Dreams,’ and ‘Fall In Love.’”
Along with music recording and production, Rico has also been involved with sound design for theatre plays at UH Hilo. She was also radio manager and radio host at University Radio Hilo at UH Hilo. Her radio show was titled, The Dream, and while interviewing musicians she encouraged them to keep believing in their dreams. This is where Christina’s stage name “Dream” evolved.
Looking forward, Rico works towards being an example by following dreams of her own. “Life is too short, follow your dreams,” adds the musician.
You’ll find the new single “Fall in Love” available on most digital platforms including YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, and others.
