The Edgar Winter Group and Rick Derringer Band are coming to Hawaii for a Four Island concert tour. You will not want to miss this Double Bill with Rock & Roll Hall of Famers The Edgar Winter Group and The Rick Derringer Band on their Edgar and Rick “Still Alive And Well” – A Tribute to Johnny Winter Hawaii Tour ‘2018.
Edgar invented the keyboard body strap that allows him the freedom to move
around on stage during his multi-instrument high-energy performances. He was
also the first artist to feature a synthesizer as the main instrument in a song.
Frankenstein revolutionized rock and roll and opened up a whole new world of
possibilities with experimentation and sound. His music has encompassed many
genres of music, including rock, jazz, blues, and pop. With over 20 albums and
numerous collaborative efforts to his credit, Winter (along with his brother Johnny)
was one of the most popular, recognizable recording artists of the ‘70s.
Edgar Winter’s live shows consistently receive rave reviews. His music is always
evolving, as he is a master at stretching his skill and imagination to produce
amazing results. As always, he remains on the cutting edge of music and style.
Joining him on this tour is fellow rock legend Rick Derringer. Rick Derringer, as a
member of The McCoys, had the number one hit “Hang On Sloopy” which
knocked the Beatles out of their number one spot on Billboard that year. His solo
smashes were “Rock And Roll Hootchie Koo,” “Still Alive And Well” and “Teenage
Love Affair”. The McCoys had enjoyed four years of successful touring, when Rick
merged his talents with Johnny Winter in 1969 forming Johnny Winter And (And
referring to The McCoys).
Guitarist/songwriter Rick Derringer is a rock/blues icon who also produces records
for mega stars including Cyndi Lauper, Barbra Streisand, Meat Loaf, Kiss and
Bette Midler. Derringer also appeared on numerous albums with artists Alice
Cooper, Richie Havens, Todd Rundgren and Steely Dan.
