Carr-Petrova Duo

March 20 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

The incredible talent of the Carr-Petrova Duo will perform at the Kahilu Theatre on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 4 p.m. For tickets/info, call (808) 885-6868 or visit https://kahilutheatre.org/.

Violist Molly Carr and pianist Anna Petrova are acclaimed international soloists. As individuals, they have won top prizes in several international competitions and are featured in Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, and Lincoln Center. In addition, their performances have been broadcast on CNN, PBS, NPR’s Performance Today, WQXR, and ABC’s Good Morning America

Carr and Petrova began playing together at the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music and have since performed together across Europe, the Middle East, and throughout North America.

In August 2018, the duo launched their interdisciplinary effort called Novel Voices Refugee Aid Project — designed to give voice and visibility to refugee communities around the globe while raising awareness and support for both local and international refugee-aid organizations. The project brought classical music performances and musical workshops to refugee camps and aid programs around the globe, commissioned a new work by composer-in-residence Fernando Arroyo Lascurain, and will be the feature of an upcoming documentary by film-makers Victoria Stevens and Skyler Knutzen.

Carr-Petrova Duo will be participating in Kahilu’s Educational Outreach Program, for which they will perform from the Kahiluʻs stage for local schools and on Kahilu.TV, streamed into classrooms across the world. This special free education outreach concert will take place on Monday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m.
