Enjoy an evening with critically acclaimed violinist, fiddler, singer-songwriter, and composer Chris Murphy—Violin Storyteller, performing at the Kahilu Theatre on Saturday, September 3, at 6 p.m.

Murphy will take you on a musical journey around the world on the wings of his violin as he performs his original and magical repertoire of songs that display his multi-genre talents with world music, folk, blues, Celtic, gypsy, and bluegrass music enhanced with his sensual, ambient, and moody violin instrumentals. A modern-day troubadour, his performances are unique, engaging, and have a vital element of spontaneity. With more than 20 albums to his credit, he is highly regarded as a musical force with a unique muse. Cyrus Rhodes of No Depression states, “Chris Murphy shows why he is one of the best songwriters in popular music and unjustly flying under the mainstream radar.” Come experience why James Rotundi of Future Music Magazine says Chris Murphy is “…a fire breathing virtuoso of the violin, Chris Murphy crams more musical mileage into a short set than most players do in an entire tour.”

Born and raised in New York, Chris Murphy is a violinist, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. He performs over 200 concerts annually in the USA, the Netherlands, France, and recently England. Themes of love, loss, redemption, hope, and fear weave through the lyrics of his original songs. Chris said, “For me, music is the most interesting and engaging thing I have experienced to let the light of life shine. My music is like a live film score, and I’m taking you on a journey to my world.” Known for his ability to play in every genre, his fusion of jazz, classical, folk, world music, and ambient music result in charismatic performances that are guaranteed to entertain and prove that “this Chris Murphy is a master and a craftsman on his instruments” — Rootstime.

On-Demand tickets for this show, which are good for an entire household, are $19.99 and are available on Kahilu.TV.
