The Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra (KPO) has announced its first 2021-22 Season MasterWorks concert at the Kahilu Theatre led by Maestro Brian Dollinger in his sixth season with the orchestra. Triumphant Return will take place Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2:00 p.m. and will feature the two winners from the 2020-21 Madeline Schatz-Harris young artist competition – pianists Crystal Ferreira and Aimee Okagawa.
The COVID-19 pandemic had required postponement of their award performance experience from last January. Their performances of 1st movements of Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No.1 and the extremely famous Piano Concerto in A minor by Edward Grieg will most assuredly be an exciting experience. Unfortunately, was KPO not permitted to have an audience due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
Thanks to a generous grant from The Dorrance Foundation and the American Rescue Program/State Foundation of Culture and the Arts, the Oct. 3 concert will be livestreamed free on Kahilu TV. KPO will also record the program for later videocast.
