Sage Sounds Musicians Lounge in Kealakekua will be live-streaming blues guitarist Lighting Larry Dupio in concert from their studio on Saturday, April 25, at 4 p.m. Dupio will be playing selections from his new release Love and Lightning. Go to their Facebook page to see the show: https://www.facebook.com/sagesoundsmusicianslounge/
Love and Lightning is Dupio’s seventh release and covers a variety of genres including reggae, pop, jazz, and his favorite, the blues. The album also features some of the Big Island’s best players like Jesse Snyder, Moon Brown, Scott Reagan, David Lawrence, and Andrew Dupio. The recording has also been nominated for a 2020 Na Hoku Hanohano award.
This live-stream show will give Dupio a platform to debut his new album as well as preview all that Sage Sounds Musicians Lounge has to offer. There will also be a “donate” tab on their site, and all money raised will be converted into studio time for local artists who are also struggling during the current pandemic crisis.
“As a sign of the times, there is a need for all of us as artists to give hope to the people who believe that there will be a time when all social prejudices will be irrelevant. The wealth of mankind will be put to better use than making war. Music is the key to providing the spark needed to unite and heal the world.” – Larry Dupio
