Quinajon shares her first release of 2022
“Do You Believe in Magic?” is a song written in 2019 during the Pandemic, while Corinne Quinajon was quarantined in her childhood home. Born and raised in Hilo, Quinajon says, “The home I was raised in has a large sentimental value in my life. There is a flavor of enchantment that inspires and invigorates the entire property: trees, gardens, flowers, lava; every nook and cranny has a wonder to explore! “Do you believe in magic” is an encouragement for listeners to reconnect with awe and wonder- the innate magic of one’s inner child. Hopefully, my song will inspire others to wake up to the pleasure and enjoyment of being alive and tune into the magic of life!”
Hilo Producer Thomas says, “Corinne recorded her tracks with me in March 2022 and then asked me to do something ‘orchestral’ with it. I envisioned a small string quartet accompanying her sparse guitar and whimsical vocals. We recorded a live harp with harpist Tomoko Sato of Japan to counter Corinne’s acoustic guitar. I added the chamber strings as best as I could for a dramatic impact. The sound effects were recorded in my backyard in Hilo. All the tracks were mixed on a vintage AMEK console.”
Quinajon continues, “Do You Believe in Magic” is my most soulful release yet. I am a poet and romantic at heart. The song expresses my taste for romantic ideas and a side of culture that appreciates the arts/ classics. I recall attending my first orchestra at San Francisco Symphony, which left me breathless in tears. The thoughtfully chosen instruments in “Do You Believe in Magic” orchestrate magic that allows the poetry behind the words to shine brighter. As a true renaissance woman, I couldn’t be prouder of this new release to become a part of my catalog!”
“Do You Believe in Magic?” is available now and can be found under the artist name “Corinne Quinajon” on all digital streaming platforms.
