The Kahilu Theatre will present Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-Winner Natalie Ai Kamauu on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at 4 p.m. For more info, call (808) 885-6868 or visit https://kahilutheatre.org/.
For the concert, Natalie Ai Kamauu will join her husband, Iolani, her daughter Sha-Lei (hula), and her son Chaz Kamauu (Master Keiki Hula winner). Her parents, Howard, and Olana Ai will also be guest artists during the performance.
Natalie was named “Miss Aloha Hula” at the prestigious Merrie Monarch Hula Festival; she is a four-time “Female Vocalist of the Year” Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-Winner and nominated for a Grammy. Natalie blew into the Hawaiʻi’s music scene in 2005, immediately turning heads and perking ears with her break-out album Ē. The title itself says it all – “Extraordinary.”
With the voice of an angel, Natalie’s soaring melodies will whisk you to new heights and depths of musical emotion. Though her sound is sweet and seemingly effortless, don’t be mistaken; she’s a powerhouse vocalist. While Natalie’s music is traditional Hawaiian, she dances the fine line between old and new, which is why audiences adore her. She always dares to merge the two with flair, bringing Hawai`i’s past into the present.
