A New Year’s Eve Extravaganza from Bottle of Blue and Company!

The fourth annual New Year’s Eve concert from Bottle of Blue, produced by Rocket and Rise Productions, will take place on Dec. 31, 2019, in Kona at Privateers Cove. The show features Bottle of Blue and Company offering a spectacular Grateful Dead Tribute concert experience and a visual performance by Sheli Rise.

Privateer’s Cove is at the corner of Kuakini Highway and Hualalai Road in the old movie theater building. The doors open at 7:30 p.m., and showtime is 8 p.m. with the concert continuing into the New Year. Advanced tickets are $25 on sale now at Eventbrite or at the door the night of the show. Bottle of Blue and Company features; Scott Reagan (lead vocals), Dan Corippo (guitar and vocals), Dave Ojeda (bass and vocals), David M Miller (keys) and Noa Eads (drums). They are joined by musicians Steve Fundy (lead guitar and vocals) and Kristin Johnson (drums).

“I wanted to do an authentic tribute to the Grateful Dead with the right musicians, the right songs and the right aesthetic to give people an epic experience that will be a lasting memory,” said Scott Reagan, lead vocalist for Bottle of Blue. “We did two shows in November that were so much fun and now we’ve added even more great tunes and more great visuals! It’s going to be a fantastic performance to bring in a memorable New Year!”

Rocket and Rise Productions, founded in 2018, is an event production company based in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Their first production was the highly successful Six String Fling experience, held at the Aloha Theatre in September of 2018. Rocket and Rise aim to bring quality community events, unique concerts and entertainment to the Big Island that is a rung above the ordinary.

Bottle of Blue, originally founded in 2013, is a leading Big Island Rock and Blues band playing classic cover songs from The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty and more. The band also performs new original music reflecting the classic rock genre, but with a fresh modern perspective. Bottle of Blue features Scott Reagan (lead vocalist), Dan Corippo, (electric guitar and vocals), Dave Ojeda (bass, guitar, and vocals), Noa Eads (drums) and David Mark Miller (keys and bass).

Sheli Rise is a VJ/Lighting visual artist enhancing the sensory aspect of the show using video graphics and custom lighting effects manipulated live during the performance. Her attention to the context of the music paired with her sense of color and motion leads to the sophistication that Rocket and Rise Productions aims to bring to the Big Island.
