No Stopping Streetlight Cadence: New Album, Emmy Nomination, and Big Island Concert

Following the success of their hit TV show, Will Play For Food, alt-pop band Streetlight Cadence (SLC) have announced their nomination for an Emmy® award. This nomination follows months of preparation for Season 2, as they took to the studio to record and produce their 6th full-length album, titled M O M E N T A R Y, which ultimately will become the soundtrack for the next season of Will Play For Food.

WPFF Season 2 is still in preproduction, explains SLC’s cellist Brian Webb. “Our next step is figuring out who we want to partner with on making the show and what platform the show winds up on. If we win an Emmy, does that mean streaming (Netflix, Hulu) is next? We’re really excited to figure that out after we wrap our June performances!”

The band that started on the sidewalks of Waikiki is absolutely thrilled to return and share some new music in four of the largest venues the islands have to offer. SLC will becoming to the Kahilu Theatre on Saturday June 29, 2019. Ticket info below.

M O M E N T A R Y is the band’s first full-length album recorded in Los Angeles since moving away from their roots on Oahu. “We’re wildly excited for the release of the new album and are stoked that we get to share it live with our friends, fans, and family back home where everything began,” says Hilo-born and raised accordionist, Jesse Shiroma.

“We recorded the album in our own studio,” notes Brian Webb, “and we four co-produced with our newest member Ben Chai as Lead Engineer. What makes it stand out is it really encapsulates the various flavors of our recent sound: In adding a drummer + a new mind the group really changed sonically and we have yet to make a work that represented that new sound well, but this album does all that and more!”

M O M E N T A R Y is available now for pre-order and is officially set to release everywhere on Tuesday, June 18th. Album pre-orders and show info, can be found at . Bundles pre-ordered from the site will also include a bonus track. Fans can learn more by visiting the band’s social media pages.
