In 1990, comedian Pauly Shore was a VJ on MTV’s show Totally Pauly and gaining notoriety with his surfer dude alter-ego, “The Weas-ellll,” and popular catchphrase – “Hey, buhhhh-ddy!” The comedian experienced a rapid rise to stardom in the ’90s with a film trifecta of Bio-Dome, Son-In-Law and Encino Man. Since then, Shore has been directing and starring in documentaries and independent comedies, such as Pauly Shore is Dead, Pauly Shore Stands Alone, and the critically acclaimed Adopted.
Shore still headlines stand-up venues around the world and will be making an appearance at the Kahilu Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 05, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. Big Island comedian Justine Smith will open the show, and ticket info can be found below.
Currently, Shore has a weekly, Big Brother-style video podcast called Pauly Shore’s Random Rants which you can find on Soundcloud, iTunes, Stitcher, and YouTube. Apart from actively touring the country with his stand-up comedy, Shore is working on a documentary of his life that spans the 1960s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.
On his website, Shore rejoices about touring: “The best part about my life is that I’m constantly touring and seeing all the nooks and crannies of the world while telling jokes. Most entertainers dread hitting the road, not me. The road is my home. I was born and raised in Hollywood my whole life, but, believe it or not, I feel more comfortable and at peace on the road with you guys.”
If you go… Have a good show!
