Saturday
Mike Love at Don’s Mai Tai Bar (Feb. 1, 2020, at 6 p.m.). Mike Love is one of reggae music’s rising stars. Born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii, to a musical family that spans generations, Mike Love brings a multitude of influences to the table, all tied together by the common goal of making the world a better place. Neil Barnett sings Rat Pack at Gertrude’s Jazz Bar (Feb. 1, 2020, at 7 p.m.). Neil Barnett plays music up to 29 days per month, which could make him the Big Island’s busiest musician! Barnett is also the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for Johnny Shot. $5 cover. Gertrude’s Jazz Bar is located at 75-5699 Alii Drive, Kailua-Kona. Info: 808-327-5299.

VicTimq with SwakHammer at Hilo Town Tavern (Feb. 1, 2020, at 9 p.m.). Two of the Big Island heavy metal rock bands on the same bill. Cover: $5. The Hilo Town Tavern is located at 168 Keawe St, Hilo. Info: (808) 935-2171.

Sunday
Ultimi at the Kahilu Theatre (Feb. 2, 2020, at 2 p.m.). Ultimi combines the vocal and instrumental talents of three professional opera singers, Isaac Hurtado, Tyler Nelson, and Brian Stucki. First joining forces in February 2014, the three charming vocalists from Utah have separately performed well over 100 operatic tenor roles combined and numerous concerts across the US and abroad. As part of the Kahilu Theatre Overture Program, all students ages 8-18 will have free admittance to this performance when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Johnny Nicholas & The Dragon Jazz Band at the Blue Dragon Tavern (Feb. 2, 2020, at 6 p.m.). Blues/jazz master Johnny Nicholas teams up with the Honoka’a High’s Dragon Jazz Band. Nicholas has toured, performed and recorded with many true blues and Americana Roots Music legends including Mississippi Fred McDowell, Robert Lockwood Jr., and Johnny Shines. Cover: $15.
