Broadway’s Zachary James will perform at Hawaii’s 18th annual Hoku Concert Series, April 19 (sold-out) and April 22, to benefit West Hawaii Dance Theatre and Academy. James is joined by pianist, Andrew Romanick. The solo show will feature highlights from James’s career on Broadway, Off-Broadway and the operatic stage as well as standards from the American musical theatre repertoire. Ticket info below.
Zachary James, one of Broadway and opera’s most incredible voices, will share hits and tales from his time in the Tony Award-winning revival of South Pacific at Lincoln Center, until his portrayal of Lurch in The Addams Family, including Oklahoma, Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables, Pajama Game, On The Town, Phantom of the Opera, Carousel, The Fantasticks, Camelot, and Most Happy Fella. A Florida native, James is a graduate of the Musical Theatre program at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he was recently awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award.
As a soloist, collaborative pianist, teacher, and scholar, Andrew Romanick conveys artistry through all of his endeavors. Romanick has performed and studied across the United States and internationally. A Washington native, Romanick studied piano performance and pedagogy at Washington State University with Drs. Jeffrey and Karen Savage.
The West Hawaii Dance Theatre & Academy is a non-profit educational arts organization based on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Academy offers daily classes in Classical Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap.
